Indians won the record for the fourth time in the thrilling final by defeating
Chennai Super Kings by just 1 run. Mumbai Indians, batting first, scored 149
for 8 in the title match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here
on Sunday. After that Chennai team Shane Watson (80), despite the excellent
innings, could score 148 runs on 7 wickets. Shane Watson went for the Chennai
team to pursue the target of 150, 8 fours and 4 sixes in 59 balls but that team I could not win. Man of the match, Mumbai pacer Jaspreet Bumrah hit two wickets
for 14 runs. Apart from them, Kunal Pandya, Pacer Lasith Malinga, and Rahul
Chahar got 1-1 wickets. The Mumbai team made its title after 2017. He had
earlier become a champion in 2013 and 2015.
Shane Watson:
Watson was on one end and he completed the
19th half-century of IPL career with 44 balls. He was lucky and left his catch
three times away from Mumbai players. Watson had scored an unbeaten 17 not out
in the last season's final against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shane Watson was run
out on the fourth ball of the last over and the match was overturned from here.
Lasith Malinga won the final over of the last ball by Shastri Thakur. Watson,
with the Dwayne Bravo (15), made a 51-run 50-over 50-run partnership for the
fifth wicket. Bravo was bowled by Duminy on the delivery of Bumrah.

The first blow to Chennai Super Kings was the first blow to the team's team score of 33 in the fourth over of the first blow and Opener Faf du Plessis (26) was stumped by Quinton de Kock at the Ball of the Kunal Pandya. Rohit selected batting:
Rohit
chose the batting first in the 3 IPL final played earlier between Mumbai and
Chennai, the first team to bat was victorious and Rohit Sharma also won the
toss when first opener in Mumbai was present in both the openers' Pavilion.
Shardul, after catching De cock to wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, chipped
his stomach and Chahar in the next over forced Rohit to get caught behind the
wicket. Chahar was on top of the order, after Mumbai's score of 45 runs in two
overs after 6 overs. De Kock hit four sixes in his 17-ball knock, while Rohit
hit one four and a six in 14 balls.
Yadav and Ishaan showed patience:
Yadav
and Ishaan showed restraint Suryakumar Yadav (15 runs in 17 balls, 1 choke) and
young batsman Ishaan Kishan (23 runs in 26 balls, 3 fours) preferred to save
the wicket. Both of them added 37 runs for the third wicket. In the middle,
only 13 runs were scored in 4 overs. Dhoni handed the ball to Tahir in the 12th
over and he bowled Suryakumar on the other ball, while Thakur took the catch of
the new batsman Krunal Pandya (7) with his own catch. No one was surprised when
Lovedi decided.
Pollard's contribution:
Kieron Pollard hit a six off Tahir in the
15th over to give the team a three-digit score but South African leg-spinner
took Kishen into the same over and fixed the 'Purple Cap' in IPL 2019. This was
Taher's 26th wicket and he left behind compatriot Rabada (25 wickets in 12
games). Pollard hit three fours and three sixes in his unbeaten innings of 25
balls.
Mumbai lost 3 wickets in last 2
overs:
In the last two overs, Mumbai lost three
wickets, all-rounder Hardik Pandya (16 for 10 balls) while playing with 4 runs,
Suresh Raina left his catches. In this over of Thakur, Pollard and Hardik
scored 16 runs with 1-1 sixes. Chahar, however, relieved Hardik in the next
over and brought relief to Chennai. Mumbai scored only 13 runs in the last 2
overs and lost 3 wickets in the meantime. Deepak Chahar hit Hardik on the
second ball of the 19th over and hit his brother Rahul Chahar (0) on the fourth
ball. Then Mitchell McClenaghan (0) was run out.
